CREATE AN AD HOC NETWORK IN UBUNTU

Have you ever read or hear about adhoc-network ??
if you dont, i suggest you to read my previous article about adhoc network :
http://idrispedia.blogspot.com/2011/10/create-ad-hoc-network-in-windows-7.html

Well , if you have already read my article above. I now just want to share you how to create an ad hoc network on your Ubuntu, this time I create it in Ubuntu 8.04. but I think ,there is no difference too far if you use the new version.
Okay, follow the steps to create an ad-hoc network in your ubuntu :
1. In the Panel or called taskbar in Windows. click System -> Preferences -> Network Configuration.
Here's the screenshot of the Network Configuration wizard.

2. From wired tab ,move to wireless tab. click +Add.
Description: Fill in the Connection Name and the SSID of your own, eg: your name. and change the Mode from Infrastructure to Ad-hoc.

Then in the 'Wireless Security', Select Security Type what you want. Here I will not give further details on the types of wireless security. Just use 'WPA Personal & WPA 2', fill in the Password too, remember!! minimum password is 8 characters.

Then in the IPv4 Settings. Change the Method to Manual and enter the following:
IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Netmask: 255.255.255.0

Well, if your adhoc network has already created. just connect the adhoc network then wait for the clients join your conection.
Thanks and Keep spirit.
